Google Maps Is About To Get Some Powerful Features

As we all know, Google I/O is underway and the search giant has made a bunch of new announcements. Recently, Google announced some interesting changes to the Google Maps. Well, Google’s own navigation service is about to get some fun new features which will transform the way you use Google Maps.

The new Google Maps will provide users augmented reality turn-by-turn directions, recommendations, the friend sharing features and more. Let’s look at some of the new features that are coming to Google Maps soon.

Ar Directions

Well, if you are amongst those who don’t like staring at the map every time you walk in a new city, then Google Maps is about to get an extraordinary feature for you. The new feature essentially combines Google’s Street View and maps data to show real-time version of Street View, combining real-world images with map overlays.

It Can Identify Nearby Places

The new app also got the capability to identify nearby places. You don’t need to leave the app to gather information about the nearby places because you can get data about popular landmarks and check them directly from the app itself.

For You

This is another new feature that’s about to hit Google Maps. The For You is the feature which throws recommendation that has been chosen for you. Suppose if you are looking for a hotel, then the app will show you the hotels that are close to you. If you are not looking for hotels, then the recommendation will not appear on the app for you.

Share With Friends

The new version of Google Maps also got the ability to share multiple places to friends directly from the app itself. Friends can vote in real time to decide which place they would like to go without leaving the Maps app.
